Fiberglass Pool Installation

Pre-manufactured fiberglass shells, installed in weeks rather than months, with a smooth gel-coat finish that resists algae.

A fiberglass pool arrives as a single pre-manufactured shell and is set into an excavated, engineered base in one piece. For homeowners who want a faster build and a lower long-term maintenance load, it is the most common alternative to gunite.

The gel-coat surface is smooth and non-porous, which means less algae adhesion and less acid-washing or re-plastering over the life of the pool compared with a plaster gunite finish.

The tradeoff is shape: fiberglass comes in a fixed set of manufacturer molds, so a fiberglass build is the right call for homeowners who like a proven design and a faster timeline, and gunite is the right call for a fully custom shape.

With Gulf Coast humidity and long pool seasons, algae pressure is higher here than in drier climates, so a consistent chemical balance and a filter sized correctly for the pool volume matter more than they would farther north.

Where This Fits in Our Process

Fiberglass installation compresses the construction phase: once the design and permitting are finalized, the shell is set, plumbed, and decked in a fraction of the time a poured shell takes. See Our Process for the full four-phase build.

What to Bring to Your Consultation

Having a rough sense of budget range, a priority list of must-have features, and photos of the current yard (if there's an existing pool or structure involved) makes the first site visit more productive. Nothing needs to be finalized before then, that's what the Design & Planning step is for, but the more specific the starting point, the faster a workable design comes together.

Serving Fulshear, Cross Creek Ranch, Weston Lakes

Cross Creek Ranch is a Johnson Development community with a Design Review Committee that signs off on pool and backyard plans; Weston Lakes is built around its own golf course and country club, where lot setbacks and drainage toward the course are part of the design conversation. Either way, approval and setback review happen in the design phase, before a crew ever breaks ground.

FAQs

What types of pools do you build?

We build custom gunite (concrete) pools and fiberglass pools, plus patio and outdoor-living renovations and repair/resurfacing work on existing pools. Gunite is fully custom-shaped and engineered for Texas clay soils; fiberglass installs faster with a lower-maintenance gel-coat finish.

Can the design be fully custom?

Gunite pools are fully custom: shape, depth, tanning ledges, raised spas, water features, and integration with decking or an outdoor kitchen are all designed around your lot. Fiberglass pools come in a set range of manufacturer shapes but still allow custom decking, lighting, and water-feature add-ons.
